Exploring the depths of the adolescent experience, 19-year-old flowerkid (aka Flynn Sant) is creating thought-provoking music that weaves personal experience through intimate music delivery. Emerging on the scene in 2018, this singer/songwriter from Western Sydney is navigating his place in the world with a string of singles that hold piercing relevance to the masses of listeners he is gathering. As a voice for the transgender community and the youth of today, flowerkid is fearlessly sharing the intimacies of his life from connecting with departed loved ones in 'Boy With The Winfields And The Wild Heart', to now exploring sexuality, gender and his complex feelings towards men in his latest single 'miss andry'. Unashamedly pouring his heart and soul into every new song, this important voice and relative newcomer is already making waves having been signed by Billie Eilish's manager Danny Rukasin, working with labels at home and abroad, and gaining rapid international acclaim.
Most recently flowerkid has released a soft, ambient and emotional single 'miss andry' that is a clever play on words with the term 'misandry'. Expressing a strong hatred of men by definition, this concept is something close to flowerkid and the personal experiences that fed much of his prejudices. Compounded by stories that fed his distrust of men and itching with a sense of envy that he can't escape, flowerkid explores the confusing paradox of comparing himself to men with jealousy, whilst expressing a loathing dislike of this gender. "It isn't your typical man hatred; I had to tackle the feeling of: I hate these boys and these men that have been in my life so much. Why do I envy them though?," flowerkid said.
Through atmospheric soundscapes and evocative lyricism, we begin to hear how flowerkid accepts his misandrist inclinations as a reflection of past traumas stating, "it's not an excuse to hate all men." Being his most personal single yet, 'miss andry' is amplified through propellant drums, pulsating synths and swirling electronic sounds that create a sombre yet enthralling listening experience. Singing honest stories that he hopes will resonate with audiences far and wide, flowerkid is exceptional in his exploration of the vulnerabilities that have shaped this young star into who he is today.

We were lucky enough to speak to the talented flowerkid who told us more about who he is, how he came to be, his new evocative single, and what we can expect for the future! Take a read below.
Who are you?
My name is Flynn Sant, and I’m the flowerkid.
How did flowerkid come to be?
The name flowerkid was inspired by the growth of the flowers, mirroring my growth as a person, whilst the kid represents my childish soul. I will always be a kid at heart. I started writing and playing with my aunt's instruments at a young age, and about three years ago I started producing my own songs.
What are we talking, vibes-wise?
Always good vibes man.
Tell us more about your new single, ‘miss andry’?
Miss andry is a song about hatred, distrust, acceptance, and redemption. I developed feelings of hatred for men at a young age, forcing me to see the world as a cold dark place. I still deal with this conflict in my head, and it adds so much more confusion to the pile as I am a transgender man; If I hate these men so much, why do I want to be just like them? Miss andry was about capturing those angry thoughts and feelings, finally accepting them for what they are, and moving forward as a better person.
What can we expect from you in the months ahead?
I plan on releasing a couple of singles in the next few months, followed by an EP early next year. Expect the same brutal honesty and raw
