Live Review: PREMIERE: Meet new Melbourne label Dart Echo with debut mix from Rings Around Saturn

Freshly minted Melbourne DIY label DART ECHO aims to explore electronic music free from the constraints of genres. Spanning a multitude of different sounds and styles, the label is set to "liberates artists and listeners alike from constraints and conformity," and despite its plans being up-ended in 2020 due to the You Know What, they're still making lemonade from pandemic-lemons despite the circumstances. While they could've waited for the year to pass and to try again in 2021, the team at Dart Echo wanted to make their presence known as best they could, so have decided to unleash a series of DJ and live mixes that "reflect the exploration of electronic music that Dart Echo represents."

Premiering on Purple Sneakers today, the first cab off the ranks is none other than a transcendent premiere mix courtesy of Rings Around Saturn. From dancefloor focused heaters to IDM, avant garde to ambient, Dart Echo's mix series will deliver a holistic exploration of the many facets of electronic music, proving this label as one worth keeping an eye on. Rings Around Saturn wastes no time proving why he was tapped for mix #001, delivering a steadily guided journey through tech and deep-house. Featuring cuts from Galcher Lustwerk and Loraine James and Le3 bLACK, this mix is the perfect soundtrack for pensive solo listening, socially distanced lounge room dance parties or a COVID-safe outdoor gathering. Speaking not only to the skills behind the producer himself but also to Dart Echo's curational prowess, first impressions don't come much stronger than this.
