After a few lovely singles and appearances in 2020 Anderson .Paak has unleashed his best release yet with funk laden 'JEWELZ'.

2020, despite its contextual troubles, has seen Anderson .Paak stay pretty busy. After a few lovely singles and appearances including 'Lockdown' with Jay Rock, 'Cut Em In' with Rick Ross and 'Yuuuu' with Busta Rhymes, Anderson .Paak has unleashed one of his best releases yet with the funk laden new cut 'JEWELZ', with production credits from veteran producer Timbaland.

'JEWELZ' is funk pop at its highest tier. Delicate synths and a tenacious rhythm section surround an ever so sexy guitar lick. This creates the perfect bed for .Paak's playful yet infectious delivery. The track's bars match the energy of its beat. A pitched up, high energy lead vocal sees the rapper boasting about how he is just getting started and that his previous victories are just the beginning. He raps in the tracks hook, "I ain't even put my jewels on / I ain't even play my latest, greatest song."

On the release and collaborating with Timbaland, .Paak commented, "It’s really dope to see someone like Timbaland that comes out of that era and that can still get the keyboard and mash out a beat right there on the spot. You know what I’m saying? A lot of dudes can’t do that no more.” He continued to say, "'JEWELZ’ was amazing, man. Timbaland came through, he had a bunch of ideas, he brought his son through and before we even got in the session, we was just chopping it up, having conversations and I think that’s how pretty much the song had came about."
