Live Review: Disclosure unleash new VIP Mix of a 2012 classic
Nearly ten years on from releasing their remix of Jessie Ware's 'Running', Disclosure have now released a VIP Mix, taking it to new heights.
They might've only gifted us their third album in late 2020, but the Disclosure brothers are clearly still feeling very generous. The Lawrence brothers have released a very special 'Workout Energy' playlist to accompany many people's new year resolutions of getting fit and healthy, and they've included some of their most high-energy heaters to help you get a sweat on. However, this isn't just a playlist of already released tunes; Disclosure have also gifted us with a very special VIP Mix of one of their greatest songs.
Having first teased its existence back in 2012 in their B2B Boiler Room set with Skream, Disclosure have now unleashed the 2021 VIP version of their iconic 'Running' remix by Jessie Ware. Cementing themselves as a serious force on the international dance scene and first dropping back with 'Latch' was absolutely everywhere, the brother duo's remix of Ware's passionate and soulful number is an undeniable floor filler. Bringing their remix into 2021, nearly ten years on from its first release and from when the VIP remix blew apart their B2B (as shown below), this VIP rework takes no time getting right down to business. It's a classic slice of Disclosure magic, and the perfect addition to their 'Workout Energy' playlist to keep you running (pun very much intended).

This release comes hot on the heels of Disclosure's 2020 album, ENERGY, which featured collaborations with slowthai, Aminé, Kelis, Syd, Kehlani and many more. Despite releasing the record in a pandemic, the pair have kept as busy as they can be with a string of gorgeous live streams, accompanying visuals, and a Special Edition of ENERGY which includes a string of impressive remixes to complement the original versions.
