Live Review: Kaytranada shares first single of 2021 in 'Caution'

Kaytranada has gifted us his first single of 2021 titled 'Caution', which was released as part of TikTok's Black History Month campaign.

Canadian dance legend Kaytranada has shared his first single for 2021 this week. Titled 'Caution', the track is vintage Kaytra, with a bouncy beat, an insatiable groove, a funky bass and an addictive chopped vocal sample to keep things vibey. Clocking in under three minutes, 'Caution' is a short and sweet cut and is sure to delight fans of the pioneering producer.

Now, if you're hoping this is the lead single from a new album, you might not be in luck. 'Caution' has been released as part of a TikTok campaign designed to celebrate Black History Month. This song is just one of many moments the app has planned for the month, including the release of a cover of the 1971 gospel song “Like A Ship” sung by Leon Bridges, and a live concert featuring Saweetie, Snoop Dogg, and Tyga.

2021 marks another exciting year for Kaytranada, who has been nominated for a string of GRAMMYs including Best New Artist and Best Dance/Electronic Album for his second album, BUBBA, released at the end of 2019. His single with Kali Uchis, '10%', also picked up a nod. In 2020, he released an entirely instrumental version of the record, as well as remixes of Sade's 'Love Is Stronger Than Pride' and Dua Lipa's 'Don't Start Now'. He teamed up with Lucky Daye for 'Look Easy', and appeared on songs with AlunaMaeta and Lou Phelps.
