In early 2021, the Australian media world was rocked with the removal of many publications' and outlets' Facebook pages. While these were restored after government intervention, the need to continue to support Independent Music Media remains as strong as ever.
When the Facebook pages were shut down, we at Purple Sneakers launched a link where we collated nearly every Australian music blog we could find. Now, we've decided to host that list as a permanent fixture on our website. If you're reading this, you'll probably have some interest in supporting independent music media. There's a few ways you can do this: consume the music media that enhance your life and connect. Sign up to mailing lists and tell your friends who you know enjoy our content to do the same.
Music media exists to tell the stories of artists, turn listeners into fans and fans into communities. We bring you news, new music, interviews and more content, and connect you to the songs and artists we all love. We pride ourselves on being able to respectfully, carefully and compellingly create and nurture communities around different types of music, expanding its reach and connecting it with new audiences.
