Tyler, The Creator - LUMBERJACK

Tyler has announced that his new album, ‘CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST’ will be released next Friday, the 25th of June. The first and presumed only teaser from the project, ‘LUMBERJACK’ is a short vignette into the potential sonic direction of the project. An eerie boom-bap beat accompanies Tylers brash vocal delivery perfectly. From creating soul music, alt rock, jazz and everything in between on recent projects, it’s no surprise fans are losing their shit over Tyler rapping again.

B Wise & Becca Hatch - Be The One

Two of South West Sydney’s best have come together in fine fashion, with B Wise and Becca Hatch releasing, ‘B The One’. The track is a clean and melodic blend of R&B, baile funk, pop and rap pulling from the respective artists' worlds perfectly. B Wise's blended delivery sounds incredible over the crisp and laidback production moulding perfectly with Becca’s angelic vocals staggering between the verses.

Deb Never - Disassociate

Deb Never has today released her single, ‘Disassociate’ alongside the announcement of her upcoming project, ‘Where Have All The Flowers Gone?’ to be released in July. ‘Disassociate’ moulds together both hip hop and indie rock tropes into a personal portrait of evolution and maturity. On the track she tackles the notion of change, both in the surrounding world and internally.

Jalmar - Mijo Rico

Melbourne-raised in a Chilean family, Jalmar, has today released his long awaited official debut track, ‘Mijo Rico’. A more than gifted writer, his penmanship steals the show on this track. Quickly delivered bars perch perfectly above the beat so clearly inspired by his heritage. With it he pulls rap instrumentation featuring trap rhythms and a gorgeous brass line.

Skenzo - Dat Side

Rising drill star Skenzo has released his sophomore single, ‘Dat Side’. Following from his massive debut single, ‘Dangerous’, this track raises the bar even higher, demanding prime position in the Australian hip hop scene. Classic 808’s take centre stage providing the platform for Skenzo’s energy inspired vocal delivery. On its creation, he states, “Growing up everyone always had negative comments about my community and my area. I chose to put the first generation of the Afro Australian scene and my hood on my back and take them to the top!”

Little Simz - Rollin Stone

Little Simz continues her album rollout with a to the point and experimental new single, 'Rollin Stone'. Now looking internally, Simz delivers the message of her importance in the global rap game via her trademark speedy raps over an experimental breaky beat. While braggadocious in nature, she credits her skills and hard work to get to the position that she’s in. It’s another reason to get even more keen for her forthcoming album, ‘Sometimes I Might Be Introvert’ out on the 3rd of September.

Superchorus - I Want To Be The One

Following the EP’s title track a couple of weeks ago, Superchorus has released his debut EP ‘Back Online’. A standout from the project is the EP’s closer, ‘I Want To Be The One’. It’s an uplifting whimsical affair, perfectly summing up the sonic ethos of the project. Having been involved in the local music scene since 2014, it’s a celebratory moment for David Gauci, releasing an intimate and personal body of work.

Clairo - Blouse

While technically released last week, it just missed the timing cut for our playlist, so we wanted to make sure Clairo’s ‘Blouse’ was in our playlist. Minimal in nature, the track combines an acoustic guitar with grandiose string lines, laying the perfect platform for Clairo’s softly delivered, yet powerful vocal. She’s taken her great diary worthy stories to a new level on the record, delivering a devilishly sharp commentary about an intimate relationship.

San Joseph - Blink Twice

Melbourne based artist San Joseph has released his debut single today, ‘Blink Twice’. The track is a cheeky, feel good moment, utilising a spirited acoustic guitar strut and a raw and soulful vocal. The single was written with writer/producer Dylan Nash (Angus & Julia Stone, Gretta Ray) and is a calm introduction into the unique artist's sonic world.

Hayley Mary - Sullen Kink

Hayley Mary has today released her sophomore EP, ‘The Drip’. The track list features a range of emotionally charged ballads, with its highlight being ‘Sullen Kink’. The grandiose number combines wide sonic influences. 'Sullen Kink's' dance undertones in its percussion and opening synth lines create an upbeat guitar pop number.
