Eora/Sydney singer and songwriter Liyah Knight has today released her new single, 'Threads', following closely from single, 'Moon Baby'

Eora/Sydney singer and songwriter Liyah Knight has today released her new single, 'Threads'. Liyah won over fans last year with her stunning debut EP, 'Nesting', a unique fusion of genres, introducing audiences to her world through a series of sonic vignettes. Now as she turns to a new body of work, she's beginning to remove any sonic boundaries, with 'Threads' acting as a symbol of her dynamic musical abilities.

'Threads' was written with Australian producer Tasker. The track is a melting pot of genres and emotions. Behind the intimately delivered vocal line, a house percussion line runs, acting as the driving force in the track, accompanied by moody synths and a tension building acoustic guitar run. The track twists and turns in both emotion and sonic intensity, toeing the line between indie folk and dance music.

Liyah explains, “I wrote ‘Threads’ about a situation I was in at the time, where a lack of communication left me feeling frustrated and let down. I feel that this is something that many of us can relate to and have felt before. Sonically, the track takes many twists and turns, and I feel the sound sums up how I was feeling at the time. Tasker was a vital part of bringing these emotions to light and channelling them into the song.”

Accompanying the release is the 'Feels Edit' of the track. With it, all the layers are removed except for two panned acoustic guitars a stunning vocal from Liyah and string sections. It's a gorgeous rendition of the already intimate track which lets its true emotive elements shine through.

“Behind the piercing synths and heavy drums,” Liyah continues, “’Threads’ is a song that tackles really delicate emotions. The Feels Edit strips everything back and allows the emotion in my voice to carry the story”.
