Birdz - They Don't Know feat. Thom Crawford

Today, proud Butchulla man Birdz releases his new single 'They Don't Know'. On it, he reunites again with friend and producer trials, as well as an awesome feature and smooth vocal delivery from Thom Crawford. The track is stamped with the flow and charisma Birdz is known for, this time, sitting above a slick, reggaton beat. Birdz says of his new single, “They Dont Know is about my experience of trying to navigate the music industry. At times it can be overwhelming, having a lot of different voices coming at you with their opinions on what you should do next and when you should do it. ‘They Don’t Know’ is basically my response to that pressure and turning frustrations into a positive."

Skiifall - My Gully

Today, Tiohtià:ke / Montreal-based, St. Vincent-born artist Skiifall returns to share a new three song mixtape, 'WOIIYOIE TAPES Vol. 1'. The project features smoking hot production, beautiful melodic lines and as always energetic and dynamic delivery from Skiifall. Our early standout is the mixtape's opener, 'My Gully', a downtempo introspective track. Warm piano chords  sit perfectly over hard hitting drums, combining perfectly with a varied vocal delivery from raps to a sung chorus.

Jorja Smith x Guiltybeatz - All of This

Further to unveiling her highly-anticipated 8-track EP Be Right Back earlier this year, Jorja Smith has today returned with a stunning new single, 'All Of This', out via her own label. The track is inspired by the genre Amapiano, a form of house music originating in South Africa which moulds together jazz, lounge music into the house format. Jorja pays homage to the genre in perfect style, combining with producer Guiltybeatz to create a hypnotic yet sombre, 5 minute affair.

James Ivy - Last Star

Today, 22-year-old rising artist James Ivy kicks off a new era with the release of 'Last Star'. The track highlights James' ear for production, creating a track that is his most joyful and euphoric yet. The track's guitar lines and uplifting vocals hint at the great pop tracks of the 2000s moulded together with the universal angst of youth prevalent in today's society. On the track, James comments, ''Last Star' is a song that’s kind of placed in this uncanny valley. The instrumental of the song is sugar-y, bright, and upbeat, while the lyrics completely contrast the mood of the instrumental as they’re paranoid, doubtful, and anxious."

MAY-A - Central Station

Soon to be Australian star MAY-A has released her debut EP, 'Dont Kiss Ur Friends'. The EP combines recent singles, 'Time I Love To Waste', 'Apricots' and 'Green' to create a storytelling project that tackles the notions of growth, queer discovery drawn from personal experiences over the past 5 years. An early standout from the tracklist is 'Central Station', a heartfelt and highly relatable track for anyone in Warrang/Sydney. On the creation of the EP, MAY-A shares, "You can listen to me grow up, gain confidence and understand myself through the way I approach my relationships. I hope you enjoy this slice of myself and pieces of the people I've loved <3"

Youngn Lipz - Misunderstood Pt. 2 (feat. M Huncho)

Western Sydney’s Youngn Lipz has released his debut album Area Baby, a 15-track offering which cements his position as one of Australia’s most exciting, groundbreaking artists. The album is an autobiographical journey that documents Youngn Lipz upbringing in South West Sydney, his rise to fame and dealing with the pressures of his social positioning. It's yet another incredible milestone in the only 22 year old's stellar career so far and a key moment on the Australian music calendar for this year.

Gordon Koang - Disco

One of Australia’s most adored artists, Gordon Koang has today released a new 12” maxi-single release titled Coronavirus / Disco via Music in Exile. The tracks are inspired by Koang’s personal experiences within the global pandemic in July 2020. As Melbourne went into lockdown he resided with his cousin Paul, and Paul’s thom (a four stringed guitar like instrument). After gaining permanent residency to Australia, and overcoming border closures they visited their home family in Uganda, witnessing the effects on the pandemic on their heritage nation.

Donatachi & LÂLKA - FWD

Sydney/Warrang producer Donatachi now teams up with Brisbane/Meanjin based artist, vocalist and producer LÂLKA for their new single ‘FWD’. Once again pushing boundaries, 'FWD' establishes Donatachi's shift in artistic vision, creating melting left field club bangers with a positive aura and energy. Throw in LÂLKA and it's a match made in hyperpop heaven.

Moktar - Silk

Egyptian/Australian producer Moktar has been teasing his incredible sound for a little while now. With club appearances across Warrang/Sydney and Naarm/Melbourne, he’s established himself as a DJ on the rise. Now, he unveils his debut single, ‘Silk’, out now via Steel City Dance Discs. With ‘Silk’ and his project holistically, he combines dark sounds of club and underground techno with traditional Arabic instrumentation, emphasising his Egyptian Australian identity.
