Diplo might face criminal charges for sexual misconduct

The LA city attorney's office is considering reopening criminal charges against Diplo following a police investigation into sexual misconduct. The world renowned DJ and record producer, also known as Thomas Wesley Pentz has collaborated with the biggest pop stars in the world, and recorded some of the biggest hits of the last 10 years under an array of projects.

The office told Buzzfeed News that the charges that are being considered are invasion of privacy and intentionally passing on a sexually transmitted infection. The criminal charges stem from a complaint made to the LAPD in 2020, where a 25 year old woman has accused Diplo of taking and distributing sexually explicit videos of her without her consent, as well as knowingly infecting her with chlamydia.

The woman also admitted that Diplo had raped her in a Vegas hotel room after one of his concerts. There has been no criminal charges pursued or filed in relation to this alleged incident.

Pentz denied last years allegations vehemently and launched a legal counterattack. He's secured a restraining order from the individual and sued for stalking, distribution of private materials and trespassing.

In November 2020, Diplo’s lawyer denied the claims that he shared the videos, saying, “In no way has my client violated any law. In fact, he has repeatedly made it clear that he wants nothing whatsoever to do with this person — and simply needs her ongoing harassment of his family to end.”

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time Diplo has been in the news for his relationship with the opposite gender. In 2017 he horribly tweeted, “Low key sent my cv for r kelly sex cult membership,” before it was deleted in under half an hour. Azealia Banks has also spoken out against Diplo, stating I used to have sex with Diplo when I was 17. Diplo definitely found me on fucking Myspace,” she said on the Cheapy's Two Cents podcast, “I always give him credit for fucking launching my career off, but yeah, I had to give him some teenage pussy to do it. He’s always been preying on young ethnic girls.”
