Alice Ivy & Sycco - Weakness

Naarm based producer and songwriter Alice Ivy is continuing her collaborative single runs, this time recruiting Meanjin singer-songwriter Sycco. Once again, Ivy uses her incredible production platform to showcase some of the great minds and voices in Australian music, creating a tripped out, groovy poppish track. Written over multiple Zoom sessions, the track is inspired by a combination Ivy’s new found strength in analogue gear production and Sycco’s undeniable presence and energy.

Big Words - Lipstick

Naarm based groove connoisseurs Big Words have released their latest double single, ‘Lipstick’ alongside B Side, ‘Leaves Beneath Me’. The frontrunner, ‘Lipstick’ is a tongue in cheek, unique take on contemporary social media influencers, all wrapped in an indie-pop gloss. Once again, the group tap into their genre moulding sound, presenting their signature blend of alt-R&B while tackling the notion of ‘self-love’ and how that presents itself as a facade on social media.

Rino - Love Extract

Naarm based composer and producer Rino has released his debut single, ‘Love Extract’ on Gallery Records, a teaser of his forthcoming EP. It’s a visceral emotive dance track, that’s equal parts expansive as it is moving. His musical prowess shows on the track, creating a dance structured, musical masterpiece.

BLESSED - Love & Loyalty

Eora based artist, producer and rapper BLESSED has today released his ‘LOCKDOWN TAPES VOL.1’ a collection of tracks written, recorded, mastered and produced across Sydney’s most recent lockdown. With the mixtape, BLESSED presents his truely signature sound that he has defined over the past couple of years as one of Australian hip-hop’s most prolific producers.

Kobie Dee - Doobs

Gomeroi rapper based in South Sydney’s Maroubra Bidjigal Land, Kobie Dee earlier this week released his newest single and video, ‘Doobs’. The track sees the rapper step out of his regular comfort zone sonically, with the track tapping into a feel good nostalgia driven track, one defined by eye opening memories.

JPEGMAFIA - THE GHOST OF RANKING DREAD!

JPEGMAFIA’s fourth studio album, ‘LP!’ arrived this morning. The record lands with two different versions, an online and offline version, which will feature different track listings and sequencing. Our favourite from the first listen is the Tkay Maidza featuring ‘THE GHOST OF RANKING DREAD!’ a laid back yet energy seeping ballad, which highlights both of their distinct vocal abilities.

Montaigne - Now In Space

Five months after her appearance at the 2021 Eurovision song contest, Montaigne has released her ethereal new single, ‘Now (In Space). The single features glitchy percussion, electronic tinged strings and gorgeous low end, creating the perfect bed for Montaigne to flourish with her evocative and persuasive vocal performance.

Obongjayar - Message In A Hammer

Nigerian-born, London-based artist Obongjayar returns to share new single 'Message In A Hammer'. The track goes hard, featuring a rampant, high energy percussion line, an infectious vocal delivery from Obongjayar, which all build to an eerie yet euphoric hook.

BRUX - Take ft. Kimbra

Australian producer/vocalist BRUX has combined with Grammy Award-winning New Zealand artist Kimbra. The two acclaimed artists combine to create a banger thats jam packed with empowering, ‘winner takes all’ lyrics with melodic rhythmic electro.

Lil Spacely - Sun Cap

Local heavyweight - Lil Spacely is back with his new single: Sun Cap. The track continues Spacely’s hot run of singles, hailing him as one of Sydney hip-hop’s most prominent and omnipresent acts. His ferocious vocal performance combines perfectly with the brass laden trap beat, creating an all encompassing banger.
