The single is rumoured to be taken from Camp Cope to-be-announced third album, the followup How to Socialise and Make Friends.

They're back. Camp Cope have released their new single, 'Blue' today, their first release in three and a half years. The single is rumoured to be taken from their to-be-announced third album, the followup to their widely acclaimed and adored, 2018, How to Socialise and Make Friends. Made up of Georgia Maq (songwriter, vocals, piano, acoustic & electric guitar), Kelly-Dawn Hellmrich (bass guitar) and Sarah Thompson (drums & percussion), Camp Cope have built a cult following with their incredibly honest, reflective and powerful brand of punk music. Now, they return with a slightly softer and refined new sound.

Camp Cope have always found a way to say a lot, emotionally and literally while portraying a sonic ethos of minimalism. It gives their music an extremely intimate and personal feel, amplifying their tracks distinct emotional power. 'Blue' is exactly that. Maq's vocals glisten beautifully over the track as she utilises layered harmonies. Hellmrich's signature winding bass lines combine perfectly with Thompson's fighting drums, to create a perfectly balanced utopia in the track. On the sentimental front, 'Blue' is a calling card for acceptance, acceptance of the need to find peace amongst the external chaos that is life.

The change in gears for the three piece comes off the back of contextual change for the band members. Like all of us, the pandemic changed everything, from jobs, to cities, to places of residence, to perspectives on civilisation. When the trio came together in the studio, they removed the the pressure of deadlines and global touring schedules, which allowed them to take their time and just create beautiful music. What culminated, is their most triumphant and beautiful album to date.
