Live Review: Bonobo Taps Joji For, 'From You', The Final Taste Of Forthcoming Album

Legacy dance music act Bonobo has today released the final teaser of his highly anticipated forthcoming album 'Fragments' before it is shared on Friday the 14th of January. 'From You' taps international indie sensation Joji and follows closely from previous collaborative singles including the Jamila Woods featuring 'Tides', 'Shadows' with Jordan Rakei and many more.

The track is a cinematic take on downtempo electronic music. Joji's melancholic vocal delivery moulds perfectly with a dynamic synth line, creating a deeply evocative atmosphere. As the tracks aura builds alongside warm keys and an electronic guitar run, the percussion becomes punchier, which acts is its beating heart. 'From You' is a ballad wrapped in Bonobo's production flare, that reflects on going with the flow and embracing mental freedom.

Reflecting on the song, Green says: “I remembered all over again how much I loved crowds and movement and people connecting with each other.”

The record, 'Fragments' was created out of a range of ideas and experimentation by Bonobo across 2020 and 2021. The final product was pulled together after a creative elation sparked by collaboration and his escape into the wild. What resulted, is the sound of struggle, reflection and introspection through electronic music.
