If anyone's had a year to remember, it's been Sydney resident ANDY GARVEY. Moving from Canberra a couple of years back, she's gone from strength to strength, navigating various facets of the industry with ease and skill.
She's a 'jack of all trades' type - she hosts both Mix Up on triple j and her own show, Pure Space, on FBi Radio. Aside from hosting these, she's coming into her own as both a prolific DJ and now, producer too.
I sat down with Andy in November, 2016 to get to know her a little bit more. In the interview, she spoke about production and how she "[has] only a couple of tracks that are actually finished, but I’m kind of again, just sitting on them. I’ve got to wait until I’m sure that I want to do this." Fast forward to 2017, and Andy released her first single. 'Club Music [Tool]' is featured on Body Promise's 'Fantastic Effects' compilation, an epic 14 track odyssey that spans multiple dimensions of experimental club music.

Andy's contribution to the compilation comes in the form of a pulsing club tune that is best described as anthemic. Driven by an iconic vocal line with the narrator proclaiming their love for club music, it encompasses everything Andy's becoming known for with her curation including versatility, a huge understanding of her craft's history and staying true to her vision and her preferences.
Playing a massive run of shows in 2017 including Splendour In The Grass, Subsonic, a six hour set at Pavlova Bar, Yours & Owls Festival, HER with Jayda G, Cool Room with Nite Fleit & supporting the likes of Todd Terje, there's no signs of slowing down from Andy which is why we're excited to see what 2018 brings for her.
