Our must-see acts for Pitch Festival 2018

4 October 2017 | 10:11 am | Rosie Rae

As festival season starts to well and truly heat up, we're definitely feeling the gentle pinch of those purse strings. One new event that has stood out amongst the rest is Victoria's PITCH MUSIC AND ARTS FESTIVAL. Nestled in the the serene valley of Moyston, Victoria, Pitch Festival brings together the the most idyllic elements of nature and underground electronic. Surrounded by vast mountain ranges and towering gum trees, punters are invited to escape reality for a few days, with high some calibre culture. Unlike a typical doof in its infancy, Pitch Music and Arts Festival hosts a smorgasbord of cutting edge dance music acts. This three-day festival lineup could easily be mistaken for a European boutique festival. After a hugely successful first event, Pitch Festival has dropped a massive second year lineup this week, and we're happy to see that this next rendition showcases a lot more diversity, with some truly groundbreaking female talent being included on the lineup.

Pitch Festival's 2018 lineup features acts such as BICEP (live), AVALON EMERSON, BOOKA SHADETHE BLACK MADONNA, HEIDI, MACEO PLEXHOSHFLOATING POINTS and more. With so many big name artists on the bill it’s easy to overlook the incredible homegrown talent that's set to be featured; so we wanted to list a few of favourite local acts that will be featured at the event.

We're excited to see that our favourite Kiwi expats will be bringing their hip hop infused, chill wave electronic sounds to next year's Pitch Festival lineup. The Melbourne based duo will be performing live, and if their '501's' clip is any indication, it's going to get pretty steamy.

KLLO are probably one of Australia's most under the radar electronic acts to be playing next year's Pitch Music and Arts Festival, but that's all set to change with the imminent release of their debut album. If you haven't had a chance to listen to this dreamy duo, it's time you discovered their melodic magic. Combining elements of floaty piano and dreamy vocal hooks, they tie together a plethora of beautiful sounds effortlessly, creating a unique genre of their own. We're certain their unique brand of electronica will definitely move you.

Melbourne disco queen CC:DISCO! will be also gracing the Pitch Festival stage next year with a vast collection of infectious dance floor rhythms. Whether it's an intimates club room or a festival stage, CC:DISCO! will be sure to have the crowd grooving.

Known for his eclectic and experimental tribal sounds, Tornado Wallace has carved a name for himself as one of Australia's front running electronic artists. We're certain that Wallace's highly rhythm centric sounds will pair perfectly with lush bushland landscapes.
