The bubblegum pop producer will join Ashnikko for first-ever Australian and New Zealand shows kicking off in Melbourne this weekend.
US popstar Ashnikko is set to kick off her first-ever Australian and New Zealand shows in Melbourne this weekend, and now it's been revealed she'll be joined by Sydney bubblegum pop producer donatachi, who will perform as a special guest.
Described as a pioneer at the forefront of the scene, donatachi has been pushing the boundaries and shifting the perceptions of what pop and electronic music can be. With a USB packed full of energy and off the back of their 2022 mini-album release, donatachi.com, their hyper-kitschy tracks serve as the perfect entree to set the stage for the main course that is Ashnikko's performances.
Donatachi’s mini-album, donatachi.com, is a '90s-styled, saccharine-sweet adventure that draws inspiration from the formative years of rave, jungle, and breakbeat, interlaced with the producer's signature hyper-bubblegum pop production that has been sought out by artists like Dorian Electra, That Kid, and Slayyyter.
Donatachi has previously released the 2019 hit, Crush On U, and two triple j Mix-Ups, as well as their hugely successful 2 Pop Soundcloud mix series. They've also previously supported national tours for major names such as Kim Petras, Rina Sawayama, Umru, and Petal Supply.
Meanwhile, Ashnikko recently announced the release of her debut album, WEEDKILLER, on Friday June 2, which will feature a collection of tracks that perfect the bold, genre-blending sound that has defined Ashnikko's work to date.

She has also recently released her latest single, Worms, which despite its bouncy alt-pop beat, gives commentary on Earth's environmental disasters and the rapid evolution of technology, with the video taking place in a Mad Max-esque dystopian universe as Ashnikko becomes part machine to battle against the titular robotic Weedkiller enemies.
Along with her recent release You Make Me Sick!, the two tracks mark a new era for Ashnikko, showcasing the breadth of her musical prowess and her ability to fearlessly shift between genres.
