"This world is full of predators ... They prey on the innocent".

More Cardi B More Cardi B

Cardi B has called out the Dalai Lama after a controversial video surfaced of the Tibetian spiritual leader kissing a young boy on the mouth and asking him to “suck his tongue".

ICYMI: A video, which was taken at an event in Northern India on an unspecified date, sees the Dalai Lama giving a young boy a hug. He then says, “Then I think fine here also”, pointing to the boy's lips, which he then kissed.

“And suck my tongue,” the Dalai Lama then tells the boy, sticking out his tongue.

As the disturbing video made the rounds on social media, it caught the attention of Bodak Yellow rapper Cardi, who was quick to slam the Dalai Lama as a predator.

"This world is full of predators," Cardi tweeted on April 10 without specifically mentioning the spiritual leader.

"They prey on the innocent. The ones who are most unknowing, our children. Predators could be our neighbors, our school teachers, even people wit money ,power & our churches. Constantly talk with your kids about boundaries and what they shouldn't allow people to do to them."

Cardi, who shares children Kulture, 4, and Wave, 19 months, with rapper Offset, then gave insight into her strict childhood, saying she was not allowed "No sleep overs nothing!!!"

She then advised parents on how to talk to their kids, saying, "From the time you start potty training your kids you should tell them DONT LET nobody touch your privates, enter the bathroom wit you and don't keep no secrets away from mommy."

Cardi spoke further on the incident on Instagram Live, where she also called out those who claimed she wasn't the right "messenger" to slam the Dalai Lama's actions.

“This morning, I see this video of this guy — I don’t know what he is, if he’s like a monk or whatever,” she began. “I see that he kissed a boy on the mouth. And it’s just like, damn. This just goes back to the conversation I had yesterday. Some people take advantage of religion, and start doing perverted things to our children.”

“Didn’t you used to rob and drug men?” she said sarcastically, imitating haters who tried to call her out. “Listen, y’all not gonna keep doing this. Because when it comes to weird ass predators, and rapists, and pedophiles, and sh**, I’m really like, I don’t play that sh**."

“And for y’all to say that I’m some kind of predator, or some kind of weird bitch, because n****s wanted to buy p***y from me — and a lot of y’all were like, oh, these are vulnerable men you took advantage of — these weren’t no vulnerable men,” she continued.

“These were some freak ass n****s that like to go to the strip club, they like to get drunk … and after the strip club is closed, they like to take advantage of bitches."

She continued, “And because of that tweet, people wanna be like, oh, you the wrong messenger,” she concluded.

“How am I the wrong messenger, bitch? I’m the right messenger. I’m a f*****g mom.”

The Dalai Lama has since apologised in a statement on social media, which said: “A video clip has been circulating that shows a recent meeting when a young boy asked His Holiness the Dalai Lama if he could give him a hug.”

“His Holiness wishes to apologise to the boy and his family, as well as his many friends across the world, for the hurt his words may have caused.”

The statement added that the 87-year-old often teases people he meets “in an innocent and playful way, even in public and before cameras”.

Unsurprisingly, the apology was met with another wave of criticism on social media.

One Twitter user commented, "The boy asked for a hug. You asked the boy to suck your tongue. We all heard that. Why is it missing in your 'apology'. And asking a boy to suck your tongue isn't 'playful' as you have written. Do you the pain of how that small boy would be thinking about this?"

Another added, "Your recent behaviour is unacceptable, especially since you are considered an authority figure and role model when it comes to moral behaviour."

"The statement from your office is not only unacceptable but also unsympathetic and remorseless. All paedophiles no matter from which religion [they] are, should be held accountable for their actions and imprisoned."
