The Lord Gladstone Is Transforming Into 'DARK GLADFO' For Three Days Of Music And Arts

14 July 2022 | 10:54 am | Staff Writer

It's all going down this weekend.

One of Sydney/Eora’s most established live music, arts and culture hubs The Lord Gladstone Hotel has announced its deepest foray into curation yet, revealing Dark Gladfo. The immersive three and a half day event sees the pub turn into a singular artistic experience that celebrates the arts music and performance industries in collaboration with Goodspace Gallery, Doom Juice Wines, Atomic Brewing and Teresa Mackay. The event will take place across the 15th of July until the 17th of July. Entry is free, RSVP and keep up to event details HERE.

All of the Lord Gladstone’s spaces, from its front bar turned lazer lit room, open air courtyard and double room Goodspace Gallery will be transformed daily to provide space for art, food, lights (curated by Mackay) and live music. As each day passes a new theme will present itself, exploring the intimate journey of descending into the darkness and coming out the otherside. Pouring at the pub across the weekend will be a limited edition Dark Gladfo Ale, brewed in Redfern by Atomic.

Throughout the whole weekend the pub will be glossed with light installations and projections by Terresa Mckay, William, William Ryan, Steve Lattuca.

The journey will begin with a $7250 badge draw alongside a DJ set from DJ Peachey in the courtyard for a party until midnight on Thursday night.

Now that the senses are tingling, descent further into darkness as wine makers DOOM JUICE host their pub rave in the main bar, which will feature $6.66 natural wines, a weird and wonderful burlesque party with lighting, projections and installations across both levels. If the late night isn’t for you, a Dark Arts live drawing class will be presented by the Gladdy Drawing Club. While that's all going on inside, local inner-west venue Hijinx will curate a line up of electronic acts in the courtyard, which features BMX, 8oa Tamura, Dutch Kiss and Bella Noble.

Saturday will see the pub host DJ ROBOT 9000000 will perform a live set.

The weekend will close by providing punters the ability to turn over a new leaf with Gladdy Jazz Fest, as well as a comedy sketch in the Gallery..

Enter the darkest realms of mixed-media creativity this July 17th, for a one of a kind, free mini festival at one of the inner-city’s most adored watering holes.
