"I was missing home a bit, but felt really inspired and wanted to write a feel-good record, reminding myself of the importance of saving time for the ones I care about and love."

Dom Dolla is back again to bless our eardrums with a brand new banger called Saving Up.

This heartfelt summer anthem came as a result of a creative studio session that took place overlooking Brighton Beach in the UK, while Dom was feeling homesick for Down Under.

The track explores the theme of prioritising relationships with loved ones over the relentless pursuit of personal fortunes, urging us all to save time for the people we hold dear. The track has a unique quality, akin to a sample but entirely original. It captures the essence of disco and house music, making it a perfect addition to Dom Dolla's already impressive musical repertoire.

Dom said of the new bop: “I was in the UK last year after a massive summer of touring when I caught the train down to Brighton with some friends and ended up in an incredible studio overlooking the beach.”

“I was missing home a bit, but felt really inspired and wanted to write a feel-good record, reminding myself of the importance of saving time for the ones I care about and love. Whilst (in the studio) overlooking the same site Fatboy Slim hosted his Big Beach Boutique, I was thinking about the UK’s dance music history and it inspired me so I decided to lean into the idea of writing something that sounds sampled, but isn't.”

“I often like to write records completely on my own, but it feels so perfect to have written this one alongside some good pals, Clementine Douglas, Caitlin Stubbs & Toby Scott.”

The exciting drop comes after Dom revealed he was set to drop the track last week via an announcement on Instagram, where he described the track as “a happy little banger”.

“Brand new music 😍♥️ So excited to finally be releasing this one… it’s a happy little banger I’ve been sneaking it into my sets over the last 12 months.”

“A lot of you have been singing the words to it at my shows, which makes me feel like it’s the right time. ‘Saving Up’ 💰 is coming October 6.”

To say the Melbourne-born EDM star has had a major year is an understatement — earlier this month, the Eat Your Man hitmaker was nominated for a whopping six ARIA Awards.

Rhyme Dust earned him a nod for Best Dance / Electronic Release – an award he’d previously won in 2020 for San Frandisco, and had been nominated for 2017, 2019 and 2021 – as well as the YouTube-presented Song Of The Year award.

It was Eat Your Man, though, that scored him the bulk of his bows: Best Solo Artist, Best Engineered Release and Best Produced Release. Rounding it all out is his nomination for Best Australian Live Act, which he earned for his summer festival run at the top of the year.

Of the impressive slew of noms, Dom told Purple Sneakers, “It feels crazy. It honestly hasn't sunk in – I don't know if it's gonna sink in 'til I get there. I'm bugging out. I'm speechless, to be honest.”

The house music heavyweight hit an expected peak in February with his MK joint Rhyme Dust, not only marking his seventh #1 hit on the ARIA Club Chart but his Top 40 debut (topping out at #32 on the main Top 100 Singles Chart).

He chased that high in June with the Nelly Furtado-assisted Eat Your Man, arguably hitting another peak with his biggest collaboration yet. It didn’t have quite the same impact on Top 40 radio (tapping out at #84) but of course, it came as another smash hit on the club charts.
