In a 2018 interview Dua Lipa said that she'd love to, "make an album with Kevin Parker from Tame Impala. I think that what they do is really cool."
Dua Lipa seemingly posted a generic photo dump on her Instagram yesterday, but fans have been quick to decipher and speculate that the UK pop star might be in the studio with our very own Kevin Parker.
The internet works quickly, with fans putting together clues of a potential collaboration. A picture of her sipping a glass of wine in front of a sunset backdrop apparently features a set of banisters which perfectly match the ones in Parker's L.A. home. She also posted pictures directly from Kevin Parker's studio, which were liked by Parker's wife and manager. Parker also now follows Dua Lipa on Instagram.
It wouldn't be unheard of for the two to collaborate, with Dua Lipa attending Tame Impala's hometown show in Perth last month. She posted snippets of the band to her 87 million followers.
In a 2018 interview with Copa 90, she also said that she'd love to "make an album with Kevin Parker from Tame Impala. I think that what they do is really cool."
Both artists just wrapped up huge arena tours across Australia. Tame Impala's Rushium Australia tour was initially set to take place at the beginning of 2020 before COVID halted live music globally. It was postponed to October of this year. The show featured a set list that spanned over a decade, morphed together by psychedelic visuals and riff-laden walls of sound, cementing Parker as one of Australian music's greatest exports.
