It's been a minute since we've heard from the Australian chapter of worldwide music collective, NAP GIRLS, but starting this Sunday, they'll be back at what they do best - embracing and celebrating female and gender non-conforming individuals across the Australian music landscape by bringing together like minded people to showcase some of the finest up and comers Sydney have to offer.
A collective set up to elevate non-cis males in the music industry, this vital message has extended from its origins in the US across the globe, and Sydney is spearheading the Nap Girls message here in Australia. Titled 'Motive 001', they've selected some of Sydney's finest DJs including AYEBATONYE, CUNNINGPANTS, FLOWER BOY, LEX DELUXE, LUCY ATTITUDE (LUCY LUCY), PEAR and of course, NAP GIRLS DJS, and they'll be taking over the Botany View Hotel on Sunday, July 8 from 3pm 'til late.
It's free entry and hopefully a sign of more things to come from the crew. In a time where solidarity between minorities in the industry is needed more than ever, these kind of events are essential to build strong communities and support networks, so we highly recommend spending your Sunday arvo supporting their message!
