Californian rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer Earl Sweatshirt is making his long-awaited return to Australia and New Zealand later this year.

Arriving on our golden shores almost a decade after his last tour for 2013's Earlwolf, Earl is ready to reinvigorate his Australian fanbase with a phenomenal live show supporting his 2022 album SICK!

Set to kick off on Monday 16 October, at Sydney’s Metro Theatre, Earl will then head to Melbourne on Tuesday 17 October for a show at Northcote Theatre, then onto Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on Thursday 19 October, before heading over to NZ for his final show of the tour at Auckland’s Powerstation on Saturday 21 October.

Frontier Members pre-sale commences Tuesday, 27 June at 10am before the general public sale kicks off Thursday, 29 June at 10am. Tickets can be purchased here

Earl will also perform at this year's Yours & Owls Festival in Wollongong alongside Descendents, Broods, Peach Pitt & more. Find more information about the festival here

Beginning his music career at the age of 14, Earl Sweatshirt [born Thebe Neruda Kgositsile] began posting self-made tracks on SoundCloud under the moniker Sly Tendencies, before ultimately changing his name after being discovered by Tyler, The Creator and eventually being asked to join the globally-acclaimed rap collective, Odd Future.

Since then, Earl has become a mainstay act with a dedicated fanbase that has grown with him as he explores his creative professional world.

The rapper had one of his biggest years to date in 2022, including a number of festival sets across the US and performing a 15-date co-headline North American tour with fellow rapper Action Bronson. Earl also made 2022 the year he released his fourth studio album, SICK!, which Rolling Stone dubbed ‘his most artistically rewarding album yet.’

The last time Earl Sweatshirt toured in Australia, it was marred with controversy. Performing at Max Watt's in Sydney in 2015, the Chum rapper was approached from behind by a fan who wrapped his arms around the hip-hop star to seemingly try and take the microphone from his hands.

Concert-goers who recorded the incident witnessed Sweatshirt retaliate by throwing a left hook punch at the fan, who hit the ground after the punch was thrown.

Venue security quickly arrived and escorted the fan from the stage. Sweatshirt jumped straight back into his performance without delay.

Let's hope that his 2023 tour is smooth sailing, and his Aussie fans are a little more welcoming.
