RÜFÜS DU SOL Gets Elon Musk Dancing “Like He’s In Pain”

Australian electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL have had a cracking few years on the circuit, scoring a few Grammy nominations, taking home one of the elusive awards for best recording for their song Alive, completing a massive international tour and re-connecting with fans back on our shores in a bigger-than-ever-before Aussie tour. 

In 2023, the band took it to the next level, announcing the start of their own festival Sunbeam Baja, a boutique event set in the Ganzo Sculpture Gardens + Crania, just outside San Jose del Cabo, Mexico. 

The closing weekend kicked off last week, and the band copped a surprise guest in the form of Billionaire tech mogul Elon Musk. 

One fan attending the festival filmed Twitter's Ex-CEO dancing along to an unknown set, and Musk can be seen sporting some very odd moves. Dancing on the spot, bending his knees and shaking his hips as bright disco lights change colours in the background, it looks more like Musk is in pain rather than enjoying the carefully curated lineup.

Musk is known to be a fan of electronic dance music, having written and released a track himself in January 2020 entitled 'Don't Doubt Your Vibe'.

Despite his love for the genre, his dance moves did not live up to the rave-communities' expectations, with comments rolling in criticising his moves. 

“WTF ??? He’s dancing like he’s in pain,” One viewer wrote. 

Another agreed. "He's the most awkward looking human on earth."

Other fans defended him, praising Musk for giving it ago. 

One even mentioned, "Elon was with Grimes don’t forget, he knows how to get down." referencing the relationship the Billionaire had with electro-pop artist Grimes.

Another chimed in, just happy that Musk has now experienced the true transcendence that is seeing RUFUS Live. "I’m obsessed Elon had the experience of RUFUS live."
