"It’s an honour of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list."
Get ready to go OMG, because Usher is headlining the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show. The biggest game in the US sporting calendar will take place on Sunday, 11 February, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show headlining set follows a pitch-perfect performance from Rihanna earlier this year. In 2022, the Halftime Show was a hip-hop extravaganza, with Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg sharing the stage.
“It’s an honour of a lifetime to finally check a Super Bowl performance off my bucket list. I can’t wait to bring the world a show unlike anything else they’ve seen from me before,” Usher commented in a statement, per Variety.
“Thank you to the fans and everyone who made this opportunity happen. I’ll see you real soon.”
Seth Dudowsky, the NFL Head of Music, added, “Usher is an icon whose music has left an indelible mark on the cultural landscape throughout his career; we couldn’t be more excited to have him headline this year’s Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show.”
The NFL looks forward to working with Usher, Apple Music and Roc Nation “to bring fans another Halftime Show for the history books.”

Usher last toured Australia in late 2018, headlining RNB Fridays with Salt N Pepa for the party of the year.
The Music reviewed his most recent album, 2016’s Hard II Love, in which reviewer James d’Apice declared that “a sinner admitting his sexy sins, apologising and being redeemed - free to sin another day - is compelling.”
As well as his Super Bowl Halftime Show headlining performance, Usher will drop his first album in almost eight years on the very same day.
Coming Home will land on Sunday, 11 February 2024, via Mega/Gamma Records. The album will feature the previously released singles Boyfriend and Good Good featuring 21 Savage and Summer Walker.
“We’ve put a lot of thought and creativity into this new album to tell a story that is open to interpretation and that will connect with people in different ways,” Usher commented in a press release (via HipHopDX).
“I know this has been a long time coming for my fans, and what I’ll say is that all good things come to those who wait. I hope you enjoy it once you hear it.”
