Wolfjay - Together (Japanese Wallpaper Remix)
Melbourne’s Wolfjay has dropped a remix of their song, 'Together', courtesy of Japanese Wallpaper in what they have described as an ‘endless pursuit of creating the perfect coming-of-age end-credit song’. Marking the first time the two artists have collaborated, the remix brings a fresh life to the original, highlighting Wolfjay’s warm emotive vocals with a pulsing indie-pop beat and bright synth top notes.
Vera Blue - Lie To Me
Following the smash hit ‘Rushing Back’ with Flume, Vera Blue delivers us the next exhilarating chapter with the release of her new single “Lie To Me”. After her debut album chronicled the ashes of a break up and falling out of love, this new single marks a new era: of feeling of falling in love. Grounded in a pulsating tropical beat and scattered vocal samples and synths, “Lie To Me” is an undeniable summer banger laced with dramatic tension and iconic massive pop vocals.
Luboku - Circles
Doubling down with the announcement of a new EP SPACE WALK (due October 30), Luboku has also shared a reflective new single “Circles”. Showcasing the effortlessly cosmic vocals and sci-fi production we have come to love from the Melbourne producer, “Circles” is an immersive self-described ‘journey through the cosmos’ which sweeps you up into the clouds and leaves a lingering feeling of introspection and longing.
CXLOE - One And Lonely
Sydney’s CXLOE has hit her stride with new single “One and Lonely”, a burst of fun pop wrapped in heartfelt lyrics and sharp crisp production. Warm breathy vocals build into a snappy sassy chorus, bringing together the vulnerability and sincerity of the lyrics into an upbeat elated feeling of celebration.
London Grammar - Baby It’s You
After staying relatively quiet since the release of their second album Truth Is A Beautiful Thing, British trio London Grammar returned this week with a subtle swelling new single “Baby It’s You”. Vocalist Hannah Reid’s pure and emotive vocals shine over glowing synths and shimmering percussion in a slow build of light and refined production and iridescent piano.
Ta-Ku x Panama - Cruel
Australia’s multi-disciplinary producer-photographer-artist and collaborator Ta-Ku has tapped Sydney producer Panama for his latest release “Cruel”, a mellow introspective take on the harder parts of love and relationships. The emotional vocals take the front seat, backed by unadorned enchanting piano that builds into catchy snare-laced RnB production.
Greta Stanley - New Feeling
Hailing from Far North Queensland, singer-songwriter Greta STanley has been steadily releasing singles that get better and better each time. Warm and familiar, her personal and emotive writing style really shines in latest “New Feeling”. Gorgeous folky vocals, glossy pop production, and thundering drums give us a darker edgier new sound to her previous releases, and an exciting taste of what’s to come.
Tim Shiel x Genesis Owusu - Coliseum
One of Australia's most unpredictable producers Tim Shiel continues his Distraction Season series by teaming up with visionary Canberra artist Genesis Owusu for “Coliseum”. The result is a chaotic and fragmented explosion of percussion licked with boom bap production and bursts of wild lyrical repetition.
Arlo Parks - Hurt
British singer and poet Arlo Parks has teamed up once again with long-term collaborator Luca Buccalleti for a stunning new single “Hurt”. Written to bring healing in tough times, the uplifting track is comforting and assuring with its smooth soothing vocals, pausing for spoken word and powerful lyrics.
