Brisbane party starters First Beige have received the remix treatment from two of their influences, Sampology and Love Deluxe!
Brisbane party starters FIRST BEIGE are quickly becoming one of the country's most exciting acts. Thanks to their electrifying live show and steady output of groove-inducing, funk-infused dancefloor fillers, the six-piece's reputation as one of their hometown's most promising acts both in the studio and on the stage continues to grow. Kicking off 2020 in style after their biggest year to date last year with appearances at Laneway, Party In The Paddock and A Festival Called Panama, they still look set to make this year another Year of The Beige despite obvious set backs involving global pandemics.
Having been teasing fans on socials with hints of new music, fans can now rejoice as one of the band's best tunes has received not one but two remixes from some of the band's major influences. First stepping up to the plate with an Extended Disco Dub is none other than Brisbane's own Sampology, who wastes no time getting down to business with a six-minute arrangement tailor-made for the club to launch proceedings. After this, Sydney's Love Deluxe steps up to the plate to kick things up a few notches by bumping up the tempo, injecting some house and disco stylings and that quintessential Love Deluxe flair to bring it home.
Speaking of how exciting these two remixes are for the band, First Beige's David Versace said in an email to Purple Sneakers, "Love these 2 artists so much, I really wanted to hear desire more in the clubs Sampo and LD knew how to do it right." For Sampology, it was all about keeping the dancefloor alive as he told us, "The EP version of 'Desire' was so damn groovey that I wanted it to just keep going. So for my own DJ sets at Natural Selections party I made this 'Extended Disco Dub' to keep the feet moving for a little longer!" And if you're listening to the Love Deluxe remix and picking up on that "live band" feel, the man himself confirmed this was his mission as he told us, "I wanted to make a real clubby version of Desire. Something punchy and electronic but still with that live band atmosphere."
With more new music on the horizon and tipped to arrive sooner than you might think, as well as having spent the last few weeks during the pandemic refining their already-stellar live show and working on their own music and for other artists too, it's all systems go in camp First Beige. We can't wait to hear more.
