Total Giovanni ready new album with funk-filled ‘Awake’
TOTAL GIOVANNI, the five guys behind the 2014 uncontrollable, sexual bonfire of a disco tune that is ‘Can’t Control My Love’, have been hard at work this year, releasing new music, performing alongside John Farnham and now, releasing a brand new album. Titled Euphoria, the band have confirmed this new album will be out in the world on October 19th, and they’ve released another body-rolling disco tune titled ‘Awake’ to celebrate.
Having a mixed background of theatre and dance, Total Giovanni are building practical use of their knowledge. Exploring the robust floors of disco and psychedelic, they successfully take on a sound of their own that is sexy through both instrumental and lyrics.
This time around, the vocals are compelling and powerful, and leading them, is another memorably slick bassline carrying a rhythmic jam that howls with funk. The introduction to the song is a sharp, sweltering, Spanish guitar-like sound, with a fine bass line that follows to accompany echoing vocals leading the song into Total Giovanni’s signature – you know you’re in for a good time. THAT SLICK BASSLINE!
Creative experimentation that has inspired the likes of GROOVE CITY, Total Giovanni are clutching euphoria through sound and bursting out the funk this year. Now already making this summer their own before its even arrived, the guys are setting us up with sizzling tunes for sizzling weather.
Total Giovanni are transporting their electrifying, energetic performances around Australia, having announced a second show in Melbourne and selling Sydney’s extremely fast. Do not miss out on their contagious presence.
