Live Review: Motion Picture Actress 'Hider's Waltz'

11 November 2014 | 12:00 am | Lauren Payne

Motion Picture Actress has a new single that will amaze you.

Thomas Brydon first appeared on the electronic scene back in 2013 and his organic melodies quickly made him one of the most creative producers coming out of the Queensland capital. After a very long hiatus MOTION PICTURE ACTRESS has finally returned with a brand new track called 'Hider's Waltz'.

On his debut track, 'Water Lyf', MOTION PICTURE ACTRESS used a variety of soft vocals and melodic synths to create an almost ghostly vision of his talents. 'Hider's Waltz' is a bit more lively that 'Water Lyf' and shows the progress that Brydon has made whilst recording his new tracks.

Opening with some twinkling synths, 'Hider's Waltz' brings out a magical atmosphere and emphasises it with heavy synths during the track's mid-section. With light clicks and shimmers appearing across the piece, 'Hider's Waltz' feels like a very structured bag of mysteries. You can't really put your finger on what you're hearing but you know that MOTION PICTURE ACTRESS has a sound that would be very hard to replicate and is a pleasure to listen to.
