HAIM, Tame Impala And The Kid LAROI To Feature On 'Barbie' Soundtrack

The massive artist list for the Barbie soundtrack has arrived, making one of the year’s most anticipated films even more exciting for fans waiting for the cinematic release.

Barbie The Album is led by Dua Lipa’s freshly released track, Dance The Night, with a music video you can watch below. 

Joining the Don’t Start Now hitmaker on the Barbie soundtrack are pop and hip hop superstars Ava Max, Nicki Minaj, Ice Spice, Charli XCX, HAIM, Gayle, Dominic Fike, Lizzo and more, with Aussies Tame Impala and The Kid LAROI nabbing soundtrack slots.

Ryan Gosling’s name is also on the tracklist – will he reprise his La La Land role to fit on the Barbie soundtrack?

The bottom of the Barbie soundtrack teaser image promises "More Barbies & Kens to be announced". Does that leave room for Aqua? Is there a possibility that Barbie Girl 2.0 will appear on the soundtrack? It could happen – a new trailer for Barbie has dropped, with Minaj taking on a drill remix of the original Barbie Girl playing at the end.

Barbie The Album is executive produced by Mark Ronson. The film will be released on Thursday, 20 July, with the soundtrack hitting streaming services the following day in Australia.

Dua Lipa’s Dance The Night is another disco-pop banger and was written by Lipa, Ronson, Andrew Wyatt and songwriter Caroline Ailin.

In a teaser video for Dance The Night shared this week, Lipa wore the iconic fluffy heels that Australia’s Margot Robbie wore in the movie trailer, steps out of them and offers just one line from Dance The Night: “Just come along for the ride”.

Lipa joins the massive cast of Barbie as Mermaid Barbie. She will accompany Robbie, Ryan Gosling’s Ken, Will Ferrell as Mattel CEO, Michael Cera as a character named Alan, Hellen Mirren as “The Narrator,” and many more.

Dance The Night follows the path of Lipa’s stupendously successful March 2020 album, Future Nostalgia, an album of pure songs with a fresh spin. There’s a foot-stomping beat and Lipa’s signature stunning vocal delivery, making for the perfect movie soundtrack tune.
